Blackburn Lake is quite small - about the size of Ford or Stowell Lake - with a surface area of
4.5 hectares. The elevation is 101 metres above the sea level and has a maximum depth of 5 metres.. It drains the
area near Blackburn Road just below the north side of Mount Maxwell. It in turn drains through to Cusheon Lake,
which is the source of water for the Beddis Water system as well as the surrounding houses. It should be noted
that for many years, a dump (landfill) was operated near the upper end of this valley. The Blackburn Meadows Golf
Course is right beside the lake. It is advertised as "Canada's only organic golf course." |
